The English Language

While growing up, my parents were unable to teach me English because they did not know the language perfectly. I learned English in school and it was a bit difficult for me. I could not communicate with my classmates or with the teacher, during the first few months of school. I soon practiced speaking and writing in English while watching children educational channels in English on the television. I quickly learned English and was able to communicate with my friends and teachers. The English language is known for being one of the most difficult languages on Earth. Most Americans speak English and choose to speak another language or not. The language was and still is difficult to pronounce and understand because not every letter is pronounced exactly how it is written. In English, there are different meanings to a word even though it is spelled the same. For example, tear and tear are spelled the same, but it has two different meanings. Tear is an action of ripping apart something and tear is an emotional response to something or someone. Therefore, English is far different than Spanish in many ways. Not only is the language different in both cultures, so is their food.
